Arsemia Ancient City
Arsemia developed as an important summer administrative center of the Kingdom of Commagene on the banks of the Nymphaios. The long Greek inscription carved into the rock face, the relief depicting the handshake between Heracles and King Antiochos, rock tunnels, and palace remains are among the site’s most notable features. Together with Mount Nemrut, Cendere Bridge, and Karakuş Tumulus, it is one of the principal stops on the Commagene route.
