Ravanda Castle

Ravanda Castle stands on a high conical hill northwest of Kilis, commanding the surrounding area with its defensive position. The remains that have survived to the present day include, in particular, part of the inner castle, walls and bastions, cisterns, and traces of building foundations. Used during the struggles for regional dominance involving different powers such as the Seljuks, Artuqids, Ayyubids and Mamluks, the castle now stands out for both its historic ruins and its expansive rural views.
