Mount Nemrut Archaeological Site
Located at an altitude of approximately 2,150 metres on the summit of Mount Nemrut in Kahta district, this sacred site is one of the most impressive monumental arrangements of the Hellenistic period, featuring the tomb sanctuary of King Antiochos I of Commagene, colossal statues and reliefs. The eastern and western terraces are especially renowned for their sunrise and sunset views. Mount Nemrut has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987.
