Nemrut Dağı Archaeological Site
Located on the summit of Nemrut Dağı, at approximately 2,150 metres above sea level in Kahta district, this sacred site is one of the most impressive monumental arrangements of the Hellenistic period, with the tomb monument of King Antiochos I of Commagene, colossal statues and reliefs. The eastern and western terraces are particularly known for their sunrise and sunset views. Nemrut Dağı has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987.
