Hevsel Gardens
Hevsel Gardens is a historic cultural landscape that has provided Diyarbakır with agricultural production and green space for centuries, between the Diyarbakır Walls and the Tigris River. Viewed from the high points of the walls, the gardens create a striking visual contrast between the city’s basalt architecture and the vibrant green texture of the Tigris Valley. Together with Diyarbakır Castle, they form a core component of the UNESCO World Heritage site.
