Hallan Çemi Mound

Hallan Çemi Mound, located on the banks of the Batman River in Kozluk district, is one of the important archaeological sites for understanding the early settled life of the Neolithic period. Finds unearthed during the excavations have provided valuable information about the processes through which hunter-gatherer communities transitioned to a settled way of life and began using plants. The site stands out on special-interest routes following the prehistoric heritage of Southeastern Anatolia.
