Savur

Savur is one of Mardin’s quieter historic district destinations, with stone houses spread along a mountainside, historic mansions, old religious buildings, and a rural valley landscape. Traditional stone craftsmanship is clearly visible in the town’s silhouette rising along the slope. The area around Savur Castle, the rock-cut houses, and nearby settlements such as Dereiçi make the district a distinct yet complementary cultural experience to historic Mardin city centre.
