Housed in a historic darüşşifa (hospital) dating from the Ilkhanid period, the museum explores the history of medicine in Anatolia through the legacy of Amasya-born physician and surgeon Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin. The building was commissioned in 1308–1309; the museum displays emphasize medicine, surgery and the health culture of the period.
