Day 1: Amasya
We arrive in Amasya, the City of Princes and Lovers, at around 07:30 in the morning. After a traditional Turkish breakfast stop (extra), our first visit is to the Ferhat and Şirin Lovers’ Museum (if open), which holds the title of Turkey’s first and only Lovers’ Museum. We also visit the Ferhat and Şirin Tomb and the Ferhat and Şirin Water Channels. Following this visit, we continue towards the Amasya King Rock Tombs (extra), built on Mount Harşena and offering a sweeping view of Amasya below. After taking plenty of photos and videos, we head to the Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Museum of Medical and Surgical History, the only surviving work from the Ilkhanid period. After exploring this unique museum, we visit the II Bayezid Complex, built as an expression of gratitude for being granted the Ottoman sultanate. We then visit the Miniature Amasya Museum, where we can see Amasya as it was nearly a century ago, reconstructed at a scale of 1:150. After this brief journey back in time, we visit the Amasya Yalıboyu Houses, which reflect the city’s distinctive architectural tradition. Once our visits are complete, we have dinner and proceed to our accommodation hotel.
Day 2: Sinop
After a delicious breakfast at our hotel, we begin our journey towards Sinop. Upon arriving in Sinop, our first stop is the Erfelek Tatlıca Waterfalls, consisting of 28 large and small waterfalls and unique in the world for this feature. After exploring this wonderful natural setting and taking as many photos and videos as we like, our second stop is Hamsilos Bay. Following time at Hamsilos Bay, which soothes visitors with its unique scenery and air, we head to Turkey’s northernmost point. We take a break accompanied by one of Turkey’s oldest lighthouses and the sound of the wind, then continue from İnceburun towards Sinop city centre. Before reaching the centre, we visit Sinop Historical Prison, which leaves a lasting impression and evokes a powerful rush of emotion when explored from within. After this visit, we say that one cannot leave Sinop without trying its famous Sinop mantı (extra), and give you free time. Those who wish may take a boat tour, while others can sip tea accompanied by a wonderful sea view. Once our visits are complete, another Sinop adventure comes to an end and we return to our beautiful city of Trabzon.
