Amasya Castle
Rising on Mount Harşena, Amasya Castle is a defensive structure overlooking the city’s historic core and the Yeşilırmak Valley. Used and restored during the Persian, Pontic, Roman, Byzantine and Turkish periods, the castle brings together layers of Amasya’s history through its walls, cisterns, passageways and the rock-cut tombs in its surroundings.
