Boyabat Castle
Rising on a steep rocky outcrop overlooking the Gökırmak Valley, Boyabat Castle is a powerful historic structure bearing defensive traces from different periods. Its foundations are stated to date back to the Paphlagonian period, with Roman and Byzantine traces visible; the character of its present-day walls and towers, however, predominantly reflects the Ottoman period.
