Tripolis, within the boundaries of Buldan district, was one of the important ancient cities controlling the routes between the Lydia, Phrygia and Caria regions near the Büyük Menderes River. The city developed during the Roman period with monumental avenues, baths, a theatre, a stadium and public buildings, and stood out for its strategic location along trade routes.
