Laodikeia Ancient City

Laodikeia in the Lykos Valley is one of Denizli’s most important archaeological sites, with an extensive archaeological area spanning the Hellenistic period through the Roman and early Christian periods. Two theatres, a stadium, agoras, monumental fountains, streets and the Laodikeia Church reflect the city’s richness. Its association with one of the seven churches mentioned in the Bible also makes it important for religious tourism.
