Hoşap Castle

Hoşap Castle is an impressive defensive structure built on a steep rock in Güzelsu, in Gürpınar district, with inner and outer castle sections. Its surviving principal character dates to the period of the Mahmudi Beys, while its monumental entrance gate is the most striking part of the structure. Its location on the Van–Hakkâri highway allows it to be connected to the same cultural route as Çavuştepe.
