Niksar Castle

Niksar Castle is an extensive defensive area whose origins date back to the Pontic period and which was reinforced and used for many years during the Roman and Byzantine periods. The castle grounds, developed with inner, outer and middle fortification walls, contain traces of structures from different periods, including a bathhouse, prayer room, madrasa, church and prison.
