Topkapı Palace

Topkapı Palace was commissioned by Sultan Mehmed II in the second half of the 15th century and served for centuries as the residence, administrative center and educational center of the Ottoman dynasty. Located at Sarayburnu, its layout spread across courtyards, and its Harem, Imperial Council, Treasury and Sacred Relics sections make it an extensive palace complex rather than a single building.
