Yazılıkaya Open-Air Sanctuary

Yazılıkaya is one of the most impressive sacred sites of the Hittite world, set among high rocky outcrops just outside Hattusha. The rock reliefs in Chambers A and B depict Hittite gods and goddesses arranged in procession, making the site highly significant not only archaeologically but also for the study of Hittite religion and iconography. Planning it as a natural continuation of a Hattusha visit is the best approach.
