Located immediately beside Hacı Bayram Mosque, the Temple of Augustus is one of the most important monumental remains of Roman-era Ankara. The presence on its walls of one of the copies of an inscription describing the achievements of the Roman Emperor Augustus also makes the site significant in the context of world historiography.
