Pamukkale Travertines
Pamukkale brings nature and archaeology together in one area with its white travertine terraces formed by the deposition of calcium carbonate carried by thermal waters, and the ancient city of Hierapolis right beside them. The thermal springs have been used since ancient times and played a decisive role in the development of Hierapolis. The travertines and Hierapolis are jointly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
