Babakale
Babakale is a small coastal settlement around Bababurnu, one of Anatolia’s westernmost points, known for its historic fortress, harbor and traditional knife-making culture. Built in the 18th century during the reign of Sultan Ahmed III, the fortress was established to protect the area against pirate attacks. When planned together with the Assos–Gülpınar route, it creates a compelling coastal and historical itinerary.
