Çimenlik Castle

Çimenlik Castle was commissioned by Sultan Mehmed II in the 15th century at the mouth of the Sarıçay River to secure the Dardanelles. Comprising an outer fortification and a main tower, the structure also served within the defense system during the 1915 Çanakkale Battles. Today, as a museum, it presents the city’s military and maritime history together.
