Cimenlik Castle

Cimenlik Castle was commissioned by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in the 15th century at the mouth of the Sarıçay River to secure the Dardanelles. Consisting of outer walls and a main tower, the fortress also formed part of the defence system during the 1915 Gallipoli Campaign. Today, it serves as a museum presenting the city’s military and maritime history together.
