Located in Kahramanmaraş city center, the castle is one of the city’s historic landmarks, with its position on a hill overlooking the city and its defensive structure restored across different civilizations. Findings dating back to the Late Hittite period have been identified on the site; the castle was also used during the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods.
