Titus Tunnel

Near Samandağ-Çevlik, the Titus Tunnel is a monumental engineering structure carved into the mountain during the Roman period to protect the ancient city of Seleukeia Pieria from floods and inundation. With its extensive canal-and-tunnel system, rock-cut sections and surrounding ancient landscape, it is one of Hatay’s most impressive archaeological stops.
