Satala Ancient City
Located near Sadak Village in Kelkit district, Satala was one of the military settlements on the eastern frontier of the Roman Empire. The site features remains from different periods, including funerary stelae, a bathhouse, an aqueduct and traces of fortifications; in this respect, it is one of Gümüşhane’s principal archaeology-focused destinations.
