Aspendos Ancient Theatre
Aspendos, near Serik, is particularly renowned for its theatre, which has survived to the present day in an extraordinary state of preservation, especially from the Roman period. Located near the Köprüçay River, the city flourished in antiquity thanks to its fertile lands and river transport. In addition to the theatre, the aqueducts and the remains of the city on the hill reveal the extent of Aspendos. With a capacity of 15,000–20,000 people, the ancient theatre is one of the outstanding examples of Roman theatre architecture.
